SOLID716 is a Buffalo, NY-based manufacturer of sustainable, multi-functional concrete furniture and accessories. The company’s “concrete-chic” products blend utility with high design, and its client base includes hotels, interior designers, architects, developers, municipalities, design stores, and restaurants and bars. While SOLID716’s customers base is predominantly in Western New York, it has manufactured products for companies in Alabama, New York City, and Canada.
SOLID716 launched in May of 2013 when craftsman Connor Crimmen and designer Jonathan Casey had a chance meeting.
Connor had accumulated considerable experience in making concrete countertops using aggregate and unique inlaid pieces, while Jonathan was working as an interior designer and artist. Jonathan had his own design firm at the time, PROJECT716, and had been named by Buffalo Magazine as the “Hottest New Designer to Watch”. He also had been featured in Buffalo Spree, Buffalo Magazine and House Hunters Renovations.
In short order, they began to creatively collaborate on work “outside the box”, modern, fresh and innovative creations with concrete as their medium. They gained immediate traction and a customer base for their designs, and they soon brought in Jim House as a third partner to manage operations and provide business and financial expertise.
SOLID716 operates out of a large commercial building in the Black Rock section of Buffalo. The company’s Concrete Boutique showroom is available by appointment.
